"I feel that Bristol do not care about the progress..."

About: Bristol Eye Hospital

What could be improved

I had been treated for several years at Bristol Eye Hospital until I moved to Worcester in February 2010. My treatment continued at Worcester Royal Infirmary thereafter. However despite several requests from Worcester, Bristol Eye Hospital have failed to forward my records onto them. Accordingly every time I go to WRI they are unable to tell me whether my condition has improved or deteriorated. This I feel is totally unacceptable particularly as it could affect the sight in my eyes.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on NHS Choices and we are sorry to hear about your experience. We would encourage people with specific complaints/issues to contact the relevant department or our Patient Support and Complaints Department (pals@uhbristol.nhs.uk) in the first instance, as this is the best way to clarify exactly what has happened and to resolve the issue in question. However, having received your comment via NHS Choices we have looked into this matter further. We can confirm that a copy of your notes were sent to Worcester in response to their letter dated 27 September 2010. We can find no further correspondence from Worcester to state that these notes had not arrived – if this is an oversight on our part then please accept our apologies. We have asked our medical records department to re-send a copy of your notes as soon as possible.
