"Tiring, head bashing against brick wall..."

About: Princess Alexandra Hospital (Harlow)

What I liked

Not much.

What could be improved

Staff honesty.

Anything else?

I've been having many pre-IVF checks done so am quite a regular at Epping and now Harlow.

I'm constantly having to chase my consutlants secretary for more pre-IVF tests and she'd take her time in getting forms sent to me. She'd often say she'd done something when she hadn't. One instance being telling me she'd be running blood test forms down to that desk *right now* (on a Thursday) and when I arrived on a Tuesday, stared at blankly as she hadn't - they had to track her down. She then sat for a long time on my file 'waiting on notes from Epping' yet did not think to chase Epping after hearing nothing for several days. She then told a bare faced lie in that she'd passed my notes to Admissions a few days ago, and guess what, I ring Admissions and no, nothing handed to them and to try again in 3 days.

I ring back in 3 days, the only person who books people in for surgery (a fibroid was discovered, this has to be removed asap before IVF can proceed) is off sick and no one is covering her work. She's been off sick for 3 days and no-one is doing her work.

I was told in a passing comment that "You've requested surgeon XYZ for your operation". Told her that I did no such thing - apparantly this surgeon had a longer waiting list so would have been waiting even longer (!). I have to phone back Monday in the hope that the one person who makes appointments is well enough.

Its taken one month since my consultants secretary was informed she had to arrange for me to be booked in for surgery. One month. It should not take this long.
