What could be improved
This hospital is not fit for purpose.
Having had endless further cancellations for detached retina follow up ( see previous entries all of which remain valid) I wrote to the consultant direct asking if he was content to offer this pathetic standard of service. I received an urgent appointment for the next clinic on 2nd May and was prioritised for a cataract operation and was told I would be operated on within 28 days. 26 days later I attended for pre-op assessment and was given the usual courteous and very professional care by the assessment nurses. When I asked when I was due for surgery i was told the scheduling clerk had left for the day. I subsequently received a written notification of surgery for the 20th June. Yet another meaningless promise broken.
I telephoned and sacked the hopital. No more abuse.
Since then I have received 2 further appointment letters from them and am sure they are now listing me as a delinquant.
My GP has referred me to Shepton Mallet Treatment centre - it is a different planet and a happt reassuring plcae to be.
Good riddance to bad rubbish
Anything else?
the administration of this hospital is out of control and the problem starts at the top. The asst. PALS manager wrote a letter of justification that was amazing in its double speak.
"Enter this place at your peril"
