What I liked
With one exception (see below) all the staff were fantastic - caring and friendly. The consultant who looked after me was wonderful and the nursing staff, particularly three members, were fantastic. They deserve awards.
I felt that my care was uppermost in their minds all the time and they were patient and caring when I hit 'hormone hell'.
What could be improved
I hate to raise this when all the other staff were great but one night nurse had the caring instincts of a shark! When I couldn't sleep due to the inevitable post surgery windy pains I was made to feel like a dreadful nuisance for taking her away from her computer. She was rude and abrupt and I couldn't help but wonder why she was in the job!
Oh dear, the food! For over a week I didn't encounter a piece of fruit or a vegetable that wasn't under ripe or over cooked. Perhaps the hospital should consider marketing the RVI food trolley diet - you can eat anything you want but before you do you have to take a deep breath of 'Eau de RVI Food Trolley.' I would recommend that patients make arrangements with visitors to come via a foodhall.
"Great treatment from mostly sensitive, caring and..."
