About: New Cross Hospital

What I liked

the majority of nurses and junior doctors were lovely and would explain everything when asked.

What could be improved

attitude of senior doctors. The junior doctors were lovely and would listen to family and patient.

Anything else?

My mum was taking into hospital after complaining of Shortness of Breath for a few weeks, The first visit to this dept she was released after 3 days as they said she would get better, and could have tests done as an out pt, after 3 weeks there was no improvment in her condition and so we were sent to EAU where we waiting for 10 hours to find out that they were going to admit her. During this 10 hours they never offered her any food, and only offered her 1 drink. One of the respitory specialists asked if she was having a panic attack, i was horrified at this as my mum had been having problems with her breathing for 7 weeks. She was admitted to D20 and spent 2 weeks there, and they still have no idea what is wrong with her so have discharged her to the care of her GP. Not happy that they still havent found out what is wrong and when they cant find out what is wrong they just pass her back to her GP.
