"Good patient care but poor teamwork at the Salford Hope Hospital"

About: Salford Royal / Neurology

(as the patient),

I was admitted to ward B7 of the Salford Hope Hospital with cauda equina syndrome, a condition which results in the loss of sensation in the lower limbs. My treatment at the hospital, on the whole, was very good, as nothing was too much trouble for the nurses.

However, one Doctor seemed to try to undermine my confidence in the Doctor who operated on me. Also, when the registrar of the unit saw fit to reprimand the ward Senior House Officer in front of patients and other staff, I thought that this was inappropriate. My treatment at the hospital was very good, but I felt the Doctor's attitude with his subordinates could have been better.

We are glad that your treatment on the whole was good and wish to reassure you that everyone at the hospital is committed to providing the highest standards of care. We’re sorry to hear about your concerns in respect of the medical staff and will pass your comments onto the senior doctor for his attention.
