"It took ages for me to leave!"

I had my second bowel resection in October 2005 at the QE in Birmingham.

The nursing staff were clearly rushed off their feet, and did the best they could to give all of us the attention we needed, but often struggled.

When I was discharged at 11am, I couldn't believe I was still waiting for my medication at 8pm that evening - surely there is a better way to arrange that! None of the staff seemed surprised or concerned.

It's a friendly ward, with some very experienced patients.
