"Poor supervisory communication "

About: Community Health Services / Phlebotomy

(as a relative),

I took my wife to attend the Halewood Phlebotomy Blood Service yesterday. She was due to have 2 tests but they were unable to do the test as she had eaten breakfast. No one told us this beforehand.

We returned this morning and had specifically chosen an appointment to fit around the 2 other commitments we had today. There was only one member staff on giving the tests and she was very nice but seemed completely swamped with work. In my opinion the communication from supervisory management in the office area was poor and no one told us how long things would take.

We missed the other appointments we had because of how long it took at Halewood. The staff member giving the test was lovely but the lack of communication was very frustrating.

Dear Shrubs614,

I am sorry that you experienced a less than satisfactory service from the phlebotomy clinic. I would like the opportunity to investigate and to respond to your concerns in more detail and would ask that you contact Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 0800 073 0578.

Kind regards,
