What could be improved

I went to visit my friend last night on the surgical ward and i left feeling shocked! She had been on a drip and because they had run out of stands to hold the drop they put it on a coat hook beside her bed. She was sick one morning in one of the paper bowls and it was not cleared away until late in the afternoon. She had a canular which had tissued and on telling the nurse she tried to flush it through where it leaked. They then went off and did not return until 3 hours later to replace it by which time her arm was bruised and swollen. I felt the ward was tired and old and the windows although admittedly on the outside were absolutley filthy and looked like they had not been cleaned for months. She had been taken off the ward for a procedure which meant that she missed the dinner. On return to the ward which was when visiting started not one person asked her if they could get her anything to eat as she had been nil by mouth all day. I hope that I do not ever have to go to hospital but if I do I would asking to go somewhere other that KGH.
