What I liked
Most of the nursing staff are excellent and provide an efficient and kind servive but a minority can be sharp and appear to regard their duties as a nuisance.
I cannot speak highly enough of my sergical team who were kind and kept me informed throughout - excellent.
What could be improved
The wards are kept at a very high temperature and I found this most unpleasant. The food is quite good but the hot drinks are awful.
Anything else?
It's a good job I'm not afraid of hospitals, as my admission really was the worst part. Ambulance Transport got me to the hospital well over an hour late and I was left in a day room alone for four hours until I was shut away in a side room in another ward for the duration of the evening and night whilst awaiting a major operation the following day. This distressed me and I dread to think how a nervous patient would have coped. It was as though staff regarded me as a nuisance and put me out of the way. I really hope this isn't typical.
