What could be improved
My sister attended this hospital for knee surgery .
The consultant and staff were aware she lives alone and in a small flat with stairs yet they sent her home the day after surgery as "they needed the beds " with inadequate pain relief and other medications which she should have been given .
He leg in a splint and told to keep straight she was given transport home with someone who could not help her to ascend the stairs , since then she has suffered complications which i intend to take up with the medical staff .
It would appear that no regard was given to how she would cope at home initially and an inadequate assesment of her circumstances made .
"very upsetting"
