What I liked
The care in the Accident and Emergency Department was excellent, no complaints about that at all.
What could be improved
I was admitted to F1 ward.
On the whole, but with an odd exception, I was treated with disrespect, flippancy and in almost 4 days as an inpatient, on strict bed rest, wasnt even offered a bowl of water for a wash.
The ENT treatment area was poorly equipped, leading to inadequate diagnosis and treatment of my problem and almost resulted in an unnecessary surgical procedure being carried out.
Temporary Changes were made to my Cardiac medication without consultation with the Cardiologists despite my request that this occurred.
I left the ward feeling it unsafe to return in the event of a recurrance of my problem.
Anything else?
Given the choice, I would choose never again to be an inpatient at this hospital, this was my 2nd experience of inpatient care at North Manchester General Hospital and both left me feeling poorly treated and having received inadequate care.
"The experience left me in fear ."
