About: Hammersmith Hospital

What I liked

Went in for abdominal pains. The A&E doctor was absolutely spectacular, was very open with me about what my possible diagnoses were, gave me several options for next steps/treatments discussed with me all my questions though he was fairly busy that day, and in general was very agreeable.

He even went out of his way to fetch a gynae consultant at the same time when I mentioned a non-related non-urgent matter.

I've made sure that any future referrals from my GP will always be to Hammersmith.

What could be improved

The A&E department is a bit confusing to navigate at first - spent some time in main waiting room downstairs, then was sent upstairs to wait some more (in what appears to be a GP service?), then the triage doctor/nurse got a little concerned with the way I looked and finally sent me through to the A&E ward section. I don't know if that's standard as it was the first time I'd been there but there was some (but not masses of) shunting and waiting around (in pain).
