"Positive experiences, treated with courtesy and..."

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

What I liked

I have been coming to the opthalmology department now for many years, since 1994.

During this time I have seen various specialist consultants. I have always been treated

well by all staff in clinics and on the ward as an inpatient although this was in 1995.

Extra special thanks to the optometry clinic, who have always given me 100% care and consideration during my visits. Extra special thanks to the clinic manager who is so

cheerful and always very helpful.

I would recommend the Opthalmology department at LRI to family, friends and others too.

What could be improved

Waiting in clinic - often there doesn't appear to be any patients with optometrists but

lengthy waiting times still occur.

Anything else?

Without being rude, there does appear to be a number of visible staff that are surplus to requirements during clinic visits. Whilst the majority of staff are focussed and busy, there does seem to be a surplus of people drifting around with a piece of paper and no specific aim or intention is obvious to the general public.
