"Waste of time"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

What I liked

Plenty of room and toys for little one to play with.

What could be improved

My partner had been booked to have a tooth extracted in maxillofacial and his appointment was at 10.40am. We arrived at 10.20am and checked in and was not told how long we were expected to wait. At 11.30am he was called in but a few minutes later was told that it was only vaccuming clinic that day so would have to come back another day!! So after waiting over an hour with a 1 year old, it was a waste of time. Petrol money and parking money have been thrown down the drain! Would not recommend at all.

We apologise that on occasion our clinics run over and patients do wait longer than ideal. This is usually caused by patients presenting with complex conditions that take additional time to address.

Patients are referred to the department by the dentist or GP and have an initial consultation with a doctor prior to treatment being agreed. This ensures that the right treatment is provided and patients have time to consider their options prior to the procedure.

I am not sure what a ‘vaccuming’ clinic is and is not a term used in Maxillofacial. If you would like your complaint looked into further, please contact our PILS team free on 08081 788 337
