What I liked
I was a day surgery patient on ward 15. Everything was running smoothly, there were physiotherapists on hand all the time to help people going to the bathroom etc.
Staff were pleasant and efficient.
What could be improved
As a day patient, admitted at 7am, I felt sorry for patients who had been in overnight and were woken by the loud talking of some of the new admissions. I think it would be more sensible to keep a seperate area for day patients.
Anything else?
A member of staff turned the radio on at 7am, and left it crackling away to itself, until one patient said she couldnt stand the noise any longer and switched it off. Maybe staff should ask if patients want that terrible noise when they dont feel well.
"Absolutley fine, as I got out the same day!!"
