"A very pleasant and comfortable stay - thank you"

About: Lymington New Forest Hospital

What I liked

The staff were friendly and I was treated with dignity and respect. The ancillary staff were excellent - but they couldn't make a decent cup of tea :-( However when I mentioned it to a nurse she very kindly made me one. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for any of the staff. I noticed that at meal times the elderly patients who could not manage to eat very well were assisted by a member of staff. The staff chatted to the patient while she was helping her. There was no pressure put on the patient to hurry her along. I thought this was great and other hospitals could take a lesson from this.

I think Lymington Hospital is extraordinarily well run - thank you for caring.

What could be improved

I waited nine hours for my medication to be brought up from the pharmacy before I could be discharged. As it was known the day before I was going home - couldn't my prescription have been taken down then?

Thank you very much for your kind comments regarding your experience at Lymington New Forest Hospital. I will ensure that the staff are made aware of your positive feedback (and see whether the ancillary staff can get some pointers regarding making a good cup of tea from the nurses).

I am however sorry that you experienced a long wait for your prescription on the day of discharged and have taken the opportunity to pass your feedback on the Pharmacy team.

Kind regards
