"not getting parkinson's meds on time"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Acute medical admissions (AMU)

(as the patient),

1. while you were in hospital did you get your Parkinson’s medication on time?

Hardly ever.

2. while you were in hospital did you get your Parkinson’s medication on time?

When I was transferred to another ward (a. m. u. ) my wife was told to take my medication home as the hospital had all that I needed. Unfortunately they did not so therefore I did not receive my morning dose and not all my last dose the night before. So that morning I was totally unable to feed myself, wash or dress which was very distressing for me.

3. Tell us about your experiences of being able to manage your own Parkinson’s medication in hospital.

When I was in A&E I was allowed to self medicate with no problems and all the staff were fine about it.

4. Any other comments?

I dread the thought of ever having to go into hospital again in case I have to go through the same experience.
