"Printing labels with the patients G.P.'s address on."

About: Heartlands Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

I was at Solihull Hospital having an eye procedure carried out. While I was in the Waiting & Recovery Room I heard some of the staff saying what a help it would be to have printed Patients G. P. address labels (like the Patients address labels) in the Patients notes. I just thought that this was such a good idea I was surprised it wasn't already done, & have so I am suggesting it.

Best Wishes to all the staff at various hospitals who have given me good treatment over the years.

Dear MddWoody

Thank you for the suggestion and your kind words concerning the care you have received as a patient in hospital. I absolutely agree that pre-printed GP lables is indeed a good idea in the eye clinic. Please leave this with me and I'll pick this up with the staff working in this area as I'm sure this won't be too difficult to do. I hope you're recovering well from your procedure.

Best wishes

Simon

Dear MddWoody

I just wanted to confirm that I had some feedback from the eye clinic team who welcomed your suggestion. However, having checked through the booking-in process, it turns out that the GP details should already be on the clinic forms which are checked by the reception staff with the patient to make sure they are all okay and correct. There doesn't appear to be a need for any additional GP lables in this particular clinic.

I will of course bear your suggestion in mind as I work with other services to see whether GP lables could be useful in these areas. Thank you once again for taking the time to raise this as an idea. It's much appreciated.

Best wishes

Simon
