"Choose and Book apointment"

I feel that I must share the very recent experience that I have had with my GP at the Lingwell Croft Surgery and the Choose and Book appointment system. It was excellent. No sooner had my condition been explained by my GP, who also gave me time to ask questions and listen to my concerns so that she could answer them fully, she then explained how a consultant appointment could be made immediately using Choose and Book in the surgery.

I was able to see the computer screen and a number of options of different hospitals were given, as I made my choice (based on where I worked and the convenience of being able to attend appointments and then return to work). I was then offered a number of dates and times. I made my choice, a print out was provided which gave all the details of the hospital, date, time and information what to do if I needed to rearrange my appointment.

I am impressed - I have heard a lot about Choose and Book and it has worked well for me and my GP was also complementary about the speed and availability.

This is the way forward and I feel it will be better than waiting for paper or telephone appointments.

I hope the next experience that DEEPS has with Choose and Book is more useful and that they accept the offer of help if needed.
