A few months ago my husband was in Ward 11 at the Southern General. The staff on the ward were on a whole very good but on one occasion to hear about my husbands medical condition in the corridor in my ear shot upset me. I could have been anyone I thought medical details were private and confidential. One evening he had been pretty ill and miserable during visiting and I couldnt settle at night. I decided to phone the ward and I got a very rude and abrupt nurse who made me feel guilty for being concerned about his health.
Some of the rules on the ward seem a little antiquated to me but thats life.
