"Difficulty getting an appointment with the district nurses "

About: Devon PCT / District nursing

(as the patient),

I went to the doctor and he gave me this card and asked me to give my feedback.

A month ago, when I saw the doctor about my leg and hardening of my arteries, the doctor sent my forms to the district nursing team. The doctor couldn't find my pulse so they wanted the nurses to do some tests. The district nurses phoned me to say they'd got the referral and they could give us an appointment at the hospital in 3 weeks. They then said that it would be easier for us if they came out to us so they would arrange to do that, it would be quicker they said.

They let us down on the first appointment, but they did apologise.

They phoned to rearrange for the next week, and then said they'd phone us before they arrived. We waited in all day, and the next monrning and then phoned them. We got through eventually and they said they couldn't fit us in that day, somebody would phone us. They phoned us up, and gave us an appointment next month at the hospital. They didn't apologise for messing us about.

Why say it would be quicker to come to us when we ended up going to then at the hospital?
