I've been suffering with a stone like lump in my lower left cheek bone for couple of days.
So I closed business down and went to Russells Hall A&E Dept, travelling 5 miles in heavy traffic, eventually, at last, seen by a doctor after waiting nearly 3hrs just to be fobbed off.
Doc states 'It seems like blocked salivary gland, best thing to do is go to the Dental Hospital in Birmingham 1st thing in the morning and you may get treated right away, they are readily equipped for this kind of problem'.
The first time ever had I visited Russells Hall A&E after being convinced by my GP that they are really good as he worked in that particular dept previously. (Maxillo Facial).
I feel this was a complete waste of time. The hospital did absolutely no scans, investigations or tests. I hope this does not get any worse as it's now 2am and I set out to get this sorted 8am Wednesday. I can feel the swelling now pushing on my jaw and tonsil.
2 months ago, when it appeared, it lasted for about 10 days but agonising, docs advised abscess, now something else? No trust left in the NHS, why am I paying taxes?
Paid for parking ticket for wasting 3hrs of my time. Closed business for the entire evening, purchased antibiotics, painkillers, paid travel expenses, and yet get no hands on examination or inspection.
