"Dismissive care at East Surrey Hospital"

About: East Surrey Hospital

(as a friend),

My partner attended ESH for a follow up from an MRI scan.

The consultant had not read his notes, but said the MRI showed nothing wrong even though the report had not been written on the MRI scan. They were not a consultant radiologist so I felt was not in a position to comment.

I also felt the consultant was rude, dismissive and just walked out at the end of the consultation without allowing us to consider possible treatment options. Two weeks later, the MRI dept called asking my partner to attend an urgent further appointment. We are awaiting this appointment.

A formal complaint has been lodged. If we find the consultant dismissed my partner without diagnosing something potentially more serious (the appointment is within the two week limit, usually reserved for urgent referrals), we will be taking legal advice.
