"No longer your local surgery"

Our local GP's surgery was absorbed into the Mendip Vale mega surgery and allowing for initial teething problems to sort themselves out, has sadly completely lost it's local surgery feel.

Impossible to book an appointment , a wait of several weeks, but alarming for me today was my experience trying to pick up my prescription.

I dropped in my repeat prescription request the full 48 hours always required before collecting but when I arrived at the attached pharmacy this morning I was told they had not yet received it.

Also, the pharmacist told me it could now take 5 days for them to receive prescriptions .

At no point have I received any notification by text, letter or other that this has now changed. As it is Saturday and therefore no one to answer a call, I have to wait until Monday to try and get this resolved and without my medication, I am likely to need medical assistance before then.

Despite being a repeat prescription the pharmacist did not offer me an emergency inhaler.

It must be overwhelming to be a GP these days and they are amazing , if you can actually see one when you need one.
