I cannot thank all the staff on Scarborough Ward enough for the care given to my dear mum over 5 days recently.
I had struggled to get my very ill elderly mum transferred from the hectic, noisy ward 6A at the Pilgrim hospital.
As soon as mum was settled into her bed on Scarborough ward I knew her last few days would be comfortable and peaceful.
The staff were always kind & compassionate and as my mum progressed into Palliative care every process was explained to the family.
It is important to keep this small local hospital open as it frees up beds in the busy Pilgrim hospital and provides a place of calm and peace for those in different stages of health.
We must also remember to thank the League of Friends for raising funds to create & equip the 3 Palliative Care suites.
Our donation will be used towards creating a garden outside the Palliative Care suites.
Thank you again to you all
