"Feedback"

Despite working within general practice and the foundation trust I have never given a review of a service prior to this.

I have been a patient of my GP for approximately one year and can only wish I’d seen him earlier. This is a GP goes above and beyond, he truly cares about his patients and is very passionate. It’s rare to find a doctor as dedicated as he is. Be it medical or mental there is no finer doctor to see. He broke it down simply for me, if I was a diabetic you’d be treated medically so why not the same for mental health. I do not mean he just put me on medication but he listened to me frankly and openly and finally after years of struggling he has helped me on the road to recovery. He remembers small details about me and it’s a personal approach that makes me realise that there are good people out there and I have always felt dignified and respected. He has made a massive difference in my life, and likely to many others. He is a doctor who chooses to make a difference not because he can but because he wants to.

GP’s carry a lot of burdens and obligations but never in my career in healthcare nor as a patient have I met a GP who delivers to such a gold standard.

The NHS is now governed by bureaucracy, cut backs and excessive paperwork unfortunately. As my GP previous to this GP would say ‘Keep calm the NHS is in peril!’

I just wanted to take the time today to say thank you to my GP for everything and for always being such a fountain of support, guidance and knowledge. Enjoy the well deserved retirement.
