"I really do despair - paying patients treated..."

About: Springfield Medical Practice

I am absolutely sick to the back teeth of this place. I pay for private medical insurance at a premium through Aviva to receive a better service all round and to stay healthy because my work is important to me and I don't want to be ill. One of the perks is to order online via an app. And it worked for a couple of months. Got my prescriptions through. I work out of town and I'm too busy to keep going to the surgery. This is the same medication as I've been taking on repeat for many many years. All of a sudden "we don't accept orders via the app". No one can tell me why and I'm due to go on holiday in 36hrs. No meds. Rather than 'care' about me as a person, I'm a number The desk clerk is her usual rude self - sorry everyone has gone home and the GP won't talk to you as you're not an emergency. I will be an emergency soon if you don't let me have the prescription !!

I have no idea why I bother to go to work and pay for my prescriptions when I might as well sit at home on the dole and get things for free. So now I have asked them to find out for me WHY they can't deliver via the app when Aviva have been in touch with my GP to access my medical records in the first place to make sure I am who I say I am. Computer Says No.... bureaucratic nonsense while my wages props up those on the dole getting fee treatment and I can't even get my own meds through when I HAVE PAID THE PRESCRIPTION FEE !!!!! It's an absolute joke and a disgrace. This country is so back to front helping those who don't help themselves and causing those of who pay our way no end of hassle. This surgery drives me mad. I have had so many issues with it over the years. Late GPs, not able to get pre-booked appointments, or any appointments at all. I think they think we all just sit around the house all day waiting to be ill !! It's about time GP surgeries treated those of us who pay into the NHS as humans and with some respect.

We are very disappointed to receive feedback such as this. I am very sorry if you felt our Reception staff were rude when you contacted the surgery recently. The Receptionists work incredibly hard within guideline and protocols as directed by the Doctors and Clinical Care Commissioners (CCG)

Springfield appreciate patients cannot always visit during surgery hours to request medication and therefore support a number of methods to order repeat medication. These include via a CCG prescription ordering direct telephone line (POD) and also an ordering app via patient online access.

These methods of requesting medication are supported by the CCG and my apologies if you we not made aware of the app.

It is difficult to sort situations from anonymous feedback and I would ask if you could kindly contact the surgery to make an appointment with me so that we can look at this in more detail.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Louise Morton - Chief operating officer

I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the medication ordering facility at Springfield Medical Practice. The practice offers a range of methods to order repeat mediation which do not require you to come to the practice these include a telephone ordering line and via an online ordering facility. It is very difficult to respond adequately when comments are anonymous as we are unable to investigate what happened without any details. Please feel free to contact me to meet to discuss this if you wish to. Louise Morton Chief Operating officer.
