"Bone marrow sampling"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Day Surgery

(as the patient),

I attended Wishaw General to have a bone marrow sample taken, I was a bit concerned as I wasn't sure what to expect but from start to finish that staff were great, they made me feel very relaxed, their care was amazing. The procedure only last a few seconds and other than the injection of local anaesthetic to numb me up I felt nothing other than a dull ache for the few seconds when they actually removed the sample from my pelvis. When the procedure was finished I was offered tea and coffee (and biscuits,) which I happily accepted.

The over all experience was nothing like I had imagined and with the excellent staff there to look after you there is really nothing to fear.

Dear The Smig

Thank you for taking the time to post your experience on Care Opinion.

I am delighted to read your experience within Wishaw General whilst having your bone marrow sample taken has been so positive.

I hope you are recovering well from your procedure and should you have to have any investigations in the future this experience will allay your fears.

I am sure the staff involved will be delighted to receive such kind and positive feedback and it will be my pleasure to share this with them.

Warmest Regards

Lynn
