I attended for removal of my gallbladder yesterday. I was very apprehensive as I wasn't sure what to expect.
From the moment I arrived I felt cared for and safe. Absolutely everything was explained to me carefully and I felt included in my own care.
Staff were constantly present and available and it seemed like a very happy team who enjoyed working together.
Theatre staff were so kind and before I knew it I was in recovery. I was looked after and made to feel very comfortable.
I have just retired from 30 years in the NHS and feel proud to be part of this family. There is so much bad press about the Cumberland Infirmary and the staff must have felt so demoralised over the years, this department proved that excellent care is provided.
