"Hospital stay for gallbladder"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / General Surgery Crosshouse Hospital / Xrays & Scans

(as a service user),

I was in crosshouse hospital for a week, first night a nurse told my partner that I had just been up from theatre and was fine this sent my family into panic. I was ok but in pain from gallstones then I got moved into a ward they thought I was going for surgery wrong person moved again to another ward. Waited for five days to get a MRI scan. In the end I called the MRI receptionist to be told by them in two hours would get scan -  just as well I did not eat my lunch. I feel this is badly run. Doctors wait for a laptop coming on - clearly no communication between them and scan department. I feel I have no faith in this hospital or the staff.

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear Cookiestars,

I am so sorry. It is difficult enough being in pain and in hospital without the added worry about what is happening (or not) a the case may be.

If it would be helpful for you and you would like us to look into this for you, could you please email me your contact details on Eunice.goodwin@aapct.scot.nhs.uk.

The management will be able to look into this with the additional information you can provide which will help us to understand what went wrong to prevent it happening again.

I will be on Annual leave until the 1st of October but I will take this forward when I return,

We would hope to be able to reassure you that not only do we listen, but we learn from your feedback and would like the chance to help you to regain your confidence in us.

Best wishes,

Eunice
