"PSORIASIS"

About: St Peter's Hospital / Dermatology

I have been suffering with psoriasis for 7 years now, as you can imagine I have done all of the treatments possible.... in order for me to get something that actually works ( injection ).

Approximately 1 year ago I had seen the doctor who prescribes me Enstellar foam which I had a severe reaction to.... after going the doctors that day I had called the dermotogist at St Peters to book an appointment to fins out if something can be done to help. After having the appointment had left the appointment feeling very very upset as no one could help me, I just got told to have a cold shower to sooth the burning sensation.

A few months pass and I get another appointment with the doctor, which I was prescribes once again Enstellar foam... to which I said to him " I am allergic to this as before I had a reaction. His response " okay we wont give you that then" to which I said.. surely it should be on your notes to not prescribe me that. I had left that appointment feeling very upset also as nothing was getting done and my skin was just getting worse. Consequently I had time off work because of this.

Present time ;

I have been taking Cyclosporin for the passed three months which has helped my skin drastically, however I am unable to take them anymore due to having bad side affects such as, severe stomach pains and loose bowls for three weeks. I had then asked for another appointment to see if there is anything else I can take as my skin is getting worse.

Yesterday I had an appointment with the doctor and I wasn't filled with excitement prior to the appointment but I had no choice. I had the conversation with the doctor and explained the situation with myself and I had requested to have the injection ( I know it wouldn't have been given to me because of the cost of the drug ) his response was " I will give you something else, it seams you really want this injection. To which I replied " Yes! I would really like to use something that will work. He was explaingin that he will give me another drug which I cant remember the name of. Again I have no choice but to take this new medication and see what happens. I had tried to explain how much my skin is getting me down and is having such a negative impact on my life and I want someone to actually care about me. He ignored that and said you need to moisturise, moisturise, and moisturise. To which I said I don't use anything as I'm scared ill be allergic, His response was " Well it will never get better ! ". The way I am feeling is not good I feel very disappointed that the doctor has treated me the way he has. Ultimately I just want my skin to get better, and I just hope it does.

Lets hope things improve.
