"Patronising and uncaring"

About: Fremington Medical Centre

The telephone system! It takes 1-2 mins while you wait for the automated to finish, and you hold for the receptionist, then the automated system kicks back in to tell you nobody is answering, goodbye!!! it took me all afternoon to get through, I eventually spoke to the receptionist, I asked if I could speak to a GP to be promptly told the surgery was closing and could I phone in the morning! when I refused the receptionist then said ‘what is your problem? and wanted to know briefly my medical problem, it is disgusting, I do not want to speak to an unqualified person, when it appears she only answered the phone when it was nearly home time! I have seen them leave the desk empty, the surgery never has more than a couple of people waiting and then she tells me she has been so busy.

When I got my appointment the GP came out of his room 10 minutes late after my appointment time. I am not sure how long an appointment is but I was there for about 5 minutes.

So I suppose 10 + 5 = 15, GP back on track with his appointments!

I have been diagnosed with a genetic disorder, ...and it is apparently a common disorder, and it needs to be treated otherwise it could cause nasty problems over the next 10 years, that is how my GP informed me, I was 56, it took lots of appointments, explaining my symptoms, being in pain, only given strong pain killers, anti sickness, until I demanded that I was not well!!! and they did a blood test, again everything is normal except for one result, that one result was 1200 over normal, but he didn’t want to go down genetic testing! but obviously I kicked up a fuss and got the testing, and that was when I was told I could probably avoid my death sentence before I reached 70.

Now forgive me if I sound bitter, sarcastic, but I recently passed out on the tarka trail.

I don’t know why, what is it? I was checked over by a lovely paramedic who was caring and really made me feel like I wasn’t a burden.

I was advised to speak to my GP, advised.

I think you can get the picture, a complete circle!!

I think you need to know, I do not think anyone at that practice is patient centred, you certainly do not want to get to the bottom of any concerns, you may be able to pull the wool over the CQC report, and there may be people you think do not deserve to be cared for!! ...Is it power control, certainly seems it to me!

I am so sorry to hear that you are not happy with our services, and that you have had a distressing time. I saw the message as soon as it was posted but have only today been given access to the NHS system to be able to respond. I am sorry for that delay. Please do contact the surgery either by phone or email d-ccg.fremington@nhs.net so that we can make sure that your concerns are being addressed.
