I stayed overnight on 9 September. The staff were lovely and really seemed to care. Although they forgot to offer me food as I missed dinner, one of the night student nurses brought me a picnic about 2am which was great. I can’t remember all the names of the nurses but a gentleman who was looking after the students I think was really funny and professional. The girl who gave me the snack and brought me a bedpan about 30 times was so patient and never made me feel a nuisance.
I was so impressed with the time they spent with an old lady who was feeling very sad and saying she wished she would die. I have been in hospital before where I have heard staff moaning about old people and also saw one ignored most of the time and force fed cold food so to see how well they took care of her really impressed me and I hope my love for them is passed on to all the staff. If it can be worked out who the young girl was who looked after me, then please pass on my thanks.
A great experience. One little niggle is that the ward was so loud all night with shredders going, mobile phones beeping, maybe buzzers should be silent at night and amount of visitors limited as there were groups at time who encroached on the beds next to them and were really loud. X
