"Surgery and stay on Eden Ward"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Gynaecology

(as a service user),

I have recently been discharged from Eden ward after several days stay following major surgery for endometriosis. I was anxious about coming into hospital for a long stay but I really didn’t need to be, the experience on the ward was faultless.

From the moment I arrived on the ward prior to surgery, all members of staff from the HCA’s, anaesthetists and consultants, were so lovely and reassuring and I felt in safe hands. When I arrived back on the ward, the staff were so attentive and caring. Anything I needed was never an issue and the staff could not of done any more. All the staff were so friendly and it was so lovely to be able to have a joke and laugh on the ward with them, it really lifted my spirits. My care was fantastic. I observed how the staff cared for several elderly patients on my bay and it was exemplary, the care and genuine compassion shown was amazing and they could not do enough. I would have no worries about returning to Eden ward in the future and came away feeling even more grateful for the NHS! I sadly can’t recall all the names of the wonderful staff but for those I can recall, I want to say a big thank you to Paula, Jackie, Mandy, Sarah, Jade, Katherine and Lynsey.
