"I Felt ignored"

About: New Stobhill Hospital / Minor Injuries Unit

(as the patient),

I recently had to attend Stobhill minor injuries unit following a fall that caused pain in my wrist.

There were two people chatting behind the reception desk. I stood there for several minutes but was ignored. When one person left the area the receptionist  sat down at the computer, still ignoring me. All they needed to do was raise their eyes and recognise that I was there. I think it’s rude to treat patients like this and feel there is a need for some training in positive communication

Dear Cross Stitch,

Please accept my apologises for your recent experience following your attendance at the Minor Injuries Unit at Stobhill Hospital. This is not the standard we expect to be delivered to our patients and I will ensure that this matter is raised with the management team.

I would like to thank you for taking the time to raise your experience with us and trust that you are making a good recovery following your fall.

Yours sincerely,

John Stuart

Chief Nurse.
