"unexpected visit to eye clinic and A&E"

About: Whipps Cross University Hospital / Accident and emergency

my wife suddenly developed an eye infection and swelling which resulted in a visit to

our GP who immediately referred us to Whipps Eye Clinic for a walk in appointment.

We arrived in late morning and were fairly quickly registered and then seen by a nurse

who carried out initial checks and recorded information. Before too long we were seen by

the eye clinic doctor who carried out a thorough investigation and prescribed medication.

Because of swelling around the eye she said it would be appropriate for further checks in

A&E.

Again after a fairly short wait we were seen by a nurse in A&E and subsequently

by a doctor and a consultant.

further medication was prescribed again after a thorough

investigation of the problem,

The care, professional attention, treatment, advice, and courtesy we received was

really excellent particularly given that we weren't even expected!
