"Inpatient stay"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / General Surgery (Ward 5)

(as a volunteer/advocate),

Ward 4

Best of care. Nurses help with mobility and personal care. Nurses offer help Without the patient having to ask. Doctors explained condition to the patient so that they fully understood. Family are happy with care received by their relative, staff will come and ask regularly if you are ok or anything you need.

Medication arrives on time and the patient knows that they can ask for extra pain relief if required.

Returning home tomorrow, and understands future ahead.

Food is poor. Poor quality.... although soup very good.

Hello

I am pleased to hear you are well enough to be discharged.

I am sorry to hear that you did not like the food you received during your stay. We always welcome patient feedback. Our menus have been developed to meet patient nutritional requirements, unfortunately for various reasons they do not meet everyone's tastes.

I will pass your comments to the catering department on how you enjoyed the soups as well as your comments about the other meals.

regards

William

Dear UHH47

Thank you for taking the time to share some observations following your recent experience in ward 4. I am so pleased to hear that you felt that you received the best of care and that medication arrived on time. It is important that medical staff explained everything in a clear manner and that your family were happy with the care provided.

I will share your comments with the ward nursing and medical team as they will be delighted to receive your positive feedback.

I am sorry to hear that although the soup was good you did not enjoy the food. As you can see your comments have been shared with the catering team.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience. It is appreciated.

I hope you are recovering well.

Best Wishes

Lise
