"Hysteroscopy"

About: Lister Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

Hello

I had a hysteroscopy at lister hospital hysteroscopy unit mixed with pregnant persons.

I would like to make a complaint.

I was injected with numbing in my cervix .

No time was waited after anaesthetic for numbing to act.

Immediately my cervix was clamped open both sides.

By this time I was screaming in pain.

I was asked if I wanted to continue several times while  I said yes as just wanted the biopsy done as I was scared I may have cancer .

My complaint is that the doctor was not gentle or patient but barbaric.

The internal they did was with 2 fingers rammed inside of me fast.

Every time they touched me I almost jumped of the table /chair as they touched me really fast and carelessly.

I was injected twice in my cervix  then only 2 minutes later 1 side of my cervix was clamped open then the other.

Still screaming in pain and sobbing uncontrollably I was asked several times can we continue?

Then biopsy taken.

You can not begin to understand the extreme pain I was in during the entire procedure.

The shock , the way it was handled was appalling I felt I was being attacked. This was the worst treatment I have ever experienced in my entire life not to mention humiliating and distressing degrading excruciating

I walked out of the room sobbing only to see a full waiting room with "Everyone " looking shocked at me , 1 lady was even crying looking at me.

They heard everything that happened to me in that room. Play the security camera in that room. You will see how it affected every one in that waiting room.

I don't think this should ever be allowed to happen to anyone.

Time to numb should be given to every patient .

I was given between 1-2 minutes if that

As I say both nurses did keep talking to me trying to calm me down but had the numbing been given sufficient time to work maybe I wouldn't have been in so much pain from cervix being clamped and pulled wide open ,then camera inserted then biopsy.

I do not think I'll ever recover this experience.

The room should be sound proofed so others in waiting room can not hear me or anyone else screaming in pain.

I am left traumatised from this terrible experience. In my opinion no other woman should have to go through this horrific treatment .

I'm still in shock going over and over the horrific trauma I received today.
