"Excellent staff at North Devon District Hospital. Food was inedible"

About: North Devon District Hospital South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as a carer),

Staff are excellent. Close to home- and ambulance came within three minutes of the phone call (Had chest pains). The Ambulance men were brilliant!

He was satisfied with the treatment but had to wait an hour before he saw a doctor (had morphine given to him by the ambulance men). Nothing to recommend that could make the treatment better. All staff were caring and considerate and explained what treatment they were giving.

However, the food was inedible- packet soup. Repeat menus- relations had to bring food in. Need FRESH food! Nutritional Value= zero.

Dear just 495

Many thanks for taking the time to add your comments regarding your recent hospital attendance to the Emergency Department (A&E) and your stay on the ward.

I'm pleased to see that you found the staff to be caring and considerate, and that they explained the treatment plans fully, however I am sorry you were dissapointed in the quality of the food.

If you would like to contact us with more information, we will happily look into this issue for you. Please contact the PALS ( Patient Advice and Liaison service) on 01271 314090 who will be able to offer further support.

Jayne
