I was admitted for day surgery on Fri, Surgery however was not as straightforward as planned due to progression of my endometriosis, adhesions and diagnosis of Adenomyosis along with uterine biopsies and I was kept in for 48 hours post op.
I just want to take this opportunity to show my appreciation for all the staff in ward 309. Every single person was amazing and I was treated so very well. I was in a lot of pain the 24 hours following surgery and the nurses went out of their way to try and aleviate my pain, trying everything from peppermint water to a heated blanket. Nothing was too much bother and i was never made to feel like i was being a nuisance, even though i am quite sure I was. As this was my 6th laparoscopy I have been in ward 308/309 numerous times before, but have to say the care i experienced this time was 2nd to none. The nurses and auxiliaries actually never stopped, but never once did i hear anyone complain. I have to give a shout out to Aux Tracey who was like a duracell bunny all day on Friday, actually never stood still. Night nurses Christina & Blessing and then Megan who was looking after me on Sat, all deserve a gold star. Student nurse Blessing is going to make an amazing nurse, wish there were more like her. I was told by Dr Saraswat in recovery that I will be back in for a hysterectomy soon. I feel no anxiety about this prospect at all as I know i will be in the best hands possible and be well looked after.
