"Echo cardiogram results"

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital / Cardiology

(as a service user),

I had an echocardiogram over a month ago and the GP tells me that there are no results. I rang Cardiology and listened to music for 10 minutes but nobody answered the telephone. I tried to find contact details on the various web sites but came up with nothing. Does it take 6 weeks to read an echo and send a report? ?

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on NHS Website. I am very sorry to hear of the difficulties you have experienced in trying to get through to the Cardiology Department in order to receive results of your echocardiogram.

We would encourage you to contact our East Lancashire Hospitals Trust Customer Relations team on 01254 733700 or complaints@elht.nhs.uk to provide more information so that we can investigate why this has happened.

We are committed to improving future services and this would help us to make appropriate changes.

In the meantime we will share your feedback with the senior staff in the department.

Once again please accept our apologies for your experience and the inconvenience it has caused.

Kind Regards

Sarah Ridehalgh
