my Husband came into the CDU(triage) following a request from our GP concerned about irregular and raised heart beats. He was seen very quickly by kind and efficient nurses. He was then admitted and hooked onto a heart monitor. After a little while he was seen by a junior doctor and then a consultant. Both very professional and efficient. In the evening he was admitted to ward 28 where once again all the nursing staff were very kind and helpful. The next day(Saturday) he was seen by a doctor and told as the medication was working well he could go home when the discharge letter had been written and his medication was ready (beta blockers and anticoagulant injections). Now I am afraid things did not go well as the medication failed to arrive. We decided, with approval from the nurses, that they would call us when the medication was ready to be collected. This did not happen so the nextday(Sunday) we went back to ward 28 when my husband was given his beta blocker(4 hours after he should have taken it) Eventually the medication arrived, 24hours after the time he was told he could go home. Why did it take so long?
