I don't know how to start this, but I felt the way my care was handled was terrible, I had been complaining of headaches and double vision for over 5 years, my gp had said it was migranal anxiety and my age, so I accepted it.
However my dad had suffered a brain aneurysm and we had discovered that another 7 family members all on my dad's side had also suffered this too. my dads surgeon told me they wanted me scanned, so After a long fight with my gp who was making me feel I was also hindering the NHS I was sent to speak to a doctor. This doctor was nice enough but their attitude was...
They said they didn't know why I thought the condition might run in the family, and wasn't going to scan me until I said I had been suffering headaches and double vision. They said oh well, since I mentioned it, it couldn't be ignored now.
Turns out I too have an aneurysm and 3 tumours in my brain. The doctor who told me the results and said that the doctor I had seen before would be in for a shock when they came back in to the office. I didn't even get an apology from anyone not even my gp. I just think the way it was handled was poor. As for my dad's surgeon I couldn't fault them they saved my life. Thank you.
