How can an A&E department be peaceful 8pm to midnight on a Friday??? I don't have a clue but it was. I didn't notice at first as I was in agony. Within in half an hour the agony was gone and I was laying exhausted but relaxed on a trolley. I had to wait another three hours for a doctor to be able to look at the details and decide which antibiotic was suitable but that is not only totally expected on a Friday evening but also totally correct. Having done an excellent and very fast job of dealing with my agony I was happy on my trolley and they needed to move on to other needy cases. I went to sleep. I did mention the peace. It struck me as the treatment began and my breathing began to return to normal as the pain eased. Even though there were many, many patients and loads of staff moving around not only was it quiet but there was zero tension too. I can't really believe how peaceful it was. It was really easy to relax and become part of the peace as the treatment took place. They were also very good about water and tea. I gave them 5 stars for everything. Excellent environment and staff that were not only great at their job but friendy, helpful and thoughtful. The staff should get 100 stars.
