"Awful experience in labour and maternity ward"

About: Gloucestershire Royal Hospital / Maternity care

I would discourage my friends and family from using Gloucester royal maternity services after the birth of my son this year. I suffered a birth injury and the level of care subsequently and communication I received from the majority of staff was very disappointing. I have since suffered from anxiety and depression over the traumatic birth. I am so disappointed in my experience of this hospital. I wasn’t attended by a doctor following my surgery, had to insist on seeing physio and was made to feel very lonely and uncared for. My surgery itself was of a high standard, but the birth team and follow up care post surgery was below par.

I am so sorry to read your story. Having a baby is such a special time and I am sad to read that you are disappointed with the some of the service we provided
