"Human Kindness Is Still Amongst Us"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow

(as a service user),

On Tuesday i was attending an appointment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Glasgow. After leaving the appointment I was standing in the main foyer in severe pain, reducing me to tears, feeling very lost and isolated when a concerned nurse came and helped me, providing me with a chair and informed reception. In denial of my need for assistance (I’m not very good at accepting help) I told the nurse I was ok. However, my pain was excruciating and must have been obvious as this wonderful gentleman Callum who I believe works in Medical Records came to my rescue, assisting me with all my needs at this time, ensuring I got all the assistance I required and went above and beyond. I am truly grateful to Callum for all the kindness he gave me and instils my confidence in humanity. Thank you

Dear Wings

Thank you so much for writing such a lovely post regarding your recent visit to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. I am so sorry that you were experiencing such pain at the time. I like you are reassured that Calum and a member of the nursing staff recognised your concerns and came to your assistance, ensuring your wellbeing. Please be assured that I shall forward on your comments to the staff involved.

I also hope that your pain is now being effectively managed.

Very best wishes to you and thank you once again............... it means a lot.

Sheila
