I went into hospital on 5th September. After getting my letter for the appointment I was absolutely terrified of the whole procedure and day. It’s safe to say I’m extremely frighted and never being under a general anaesthetic before also frightened me. I spoke to most of the nurses on the day and they was more than supportive absolutely every singe one of them. The communication of what was going to happen and when was brilliant. I had an extremely understanding and lovely surgeon on the day who made me feel completely at ease. After having a previous bad experience with a dentist trying to take the same tooth out I was petrified of the procedure and he was more than understanding. It’s fair to say I must have had the absolutely best anaesthesiologist I’ve ever met. To say he made the whole experience and day better is an understatement, he clearly very experienced and new 100% how to make people smile and at ease. Every time I got slightly upset he was kind and funny, I’d really like to thank him for the help, kindness and understanding he gave me. I came in for the 7:30am appointment and was the first person in the theatre, which was the best way with how scared I felt. The staff on this ward are outstanding and I would recommend you all. I did get five star treatment and I was petrified, the best thing about it was every single staff member was lovely. I’d also lastly just like to thank the kind Lady on reception for letting me have a few extra moments with my dad to calm down when I was a bit to upset to go into the ward. Kindness goes along way and has made my whole experience something that I’m really pleased about. Lastly just a massive thank you to all the staff that day. You’re all clearly extremely well trained and take looking after your patient seriously. It was a great example of person centred care. Many many thanks for all your time and kindness on a day I was absolutely dreading. - Chelsea
