"Wonderful staff"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Cardiology University Hospital Ayr / Cardiology

(as a staff member posting for a carer/relative),

Around Easter, my husband was admitted to CAU with a pulse rate of 30, chest discomfort and breathlessness.   He was transferred to 4F and then to Ayr coronary care for a pacemaker. I would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, care assistants, phlebotomists (as they never get mentioned), and domestics. My hubby has never been in hospital before in all his 65 years and everyone was wonderful and put him at ease. Thank you all - hubby is fine now although we still don't know what caused the problem.

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear tabs666,

Thank you so much for taking time to share this, it really lifts the spirits of the staff to read such nice words about the care they give. I will be delighted to pass this on to all you mention. In particular, I will make sure the phlebotomist team don't miss it.

I hope your hubby is well now,

Best wishes to you both,

Eunice
