"I left for Babylon / GP at hand"

About: Islington Central Medical Centre

I was with this practice for around 10 years. Up until a couple of years ago, I had only positive experiences - great doctors, very helpful and polite receptionists. Then problems began - high staff turnover and constant mistakes. Referrals going missing, prescriptions never done on time. The last year was a nightmare - All I was trying to do is get my repeat prescriptions on time. The staff would refuse saying (mistakenly) that their records showed I was up for a review. I would try to get an appointment for review and they would have no appointments. The Dr would call me back, and then it would turn out (like I had said) that I already had my review. If me or my local pharmacy submitted my prescription request 2-3 days ahead, it would not be ready on time. When we tried to submitted a few days earlier to account fro delays, they would refuse saying it was not yet time for a repeat. My referral for mental health services never went through. I called to check, they said it had gone through. Six months later they said there was never any referral put through and they had no record for it. I am on medication for anxiety and depression, and just dealing with this surgery exacerbated my condition. The worst part is that they make you feel like a nuisance even if you are only asking for your repeat prescription, or your medicine review. I finally had enough and switched to the Babylon/GP at hand app. Even though I was strongly against it, as I have read that it undercuts the NHS, I felt that I had no other choice and I could not bear to be treated so badly all the time.
